Louis XVI-Style Ebonized, Polychrome and Marble-Top Secretaire a Abattant, third quarter 19th century, in the manner of Rene Dubois (French, 1737-1799), the rectangular marble top with canted corners, above a conforming case fitted with a frieze drawer over a paneled drop front opening to an inset leather surface and a variety of drawers and cubbyholes, over two paneled cupboard doors, raised on tapering square legs ending in brass caps, the cupboard and sides all with grisaille-painted panels of classical figures and motifs, h. 50-1/2", w. 28-1/2", d. 13".
