Superbe suite de planches lithographiées, représentant Paris et ses environs vers 1840.
En tout un titre avec une vignette par Benoist et 42 planches dessinées et lithographiées par Jacottet (12), Benoist (27), Jacottet et Benoist (3) avec les figures par Bayot (23), chacune légendée en français et en anglais.
C''est une véritable promenade qui nous est proposée là, en partant de Versailles, le château, les jardins, le Grand Trianon, on rejoint le château de Saint Cloud puis l''Arc de triomphe, la Madeleine, la place Vendôme, la Bourse, le boulevard des Italiens, les Tuileries, le Panthéon, Le Louvre, des vues de la Seine, Notre Dame, la Concorde…
Né en 1806, Louis Julien Jacottet, qu''il ne faut pas confondre avec son homonyme Jean Jacottet, se spécialisa dans les dessins de paysages. Sa production est très importante et Beraldi le cite comme étant des plus abondants parmi les abondants (douze volumes au cabinet des Estampes).
Ce spécialiste en paysages dut s''adjoindre les services d''un dessinateur pour les personnages qu''il ne parvenait sans doute pas bien à réaliser, ce pourquoi plusieurs des planches sont également signées de Adolphe Bayot qui s''occupait à peupler ces paysages de personnages pour les rendre plus animés.
Philippe Benoist est l''auteur de très nombreuses lithographies sur tous sujets mais il faut croire que son talent lui permettait de dessiner certains personnages dans ses paysages, Bayot n''ayant pas participé à toutes ses planches.
2 des planches sont à 2 sujets et 2 autres sont à 4 sujets.
Beraldi cite cette suite en un titre et 41 planches mais l''exemplaire auquel il s''est référé ne devait pas être complet, ces dernières étant régulièrement numérotées 1 à 42.
Exceptionnel exemplaire dans un très beau coloris du temps avec rehauts de gomme. Le coloris est particulièrement soigné et de très belle qualité.
Il porte sur le titre le cachet de S.A.I. Monseigneur le Cesarevitch Grand Duc Héritier, futur Alexandre II.
Pâles taches en marge de 4 planches.

The bordereau (bidding slip), indicating proof of payment, must be presented when property is collected. Storage costs are due at the current rate.

SMALL ITEMS purchased at auction and not collected after the sale will be transported to the PIASA offices and kept free of charge for a fortnight.
Thereafter the purchaser will be charged storage costs at the rate of € 3 + tax, per day and per lot.
