Painted for the Cardinal de Rohan in 1708, together with its companion piece The Farewell between Hector and Andromaque (untracked since 1932).
Rohan family, Palace of Sychrow (Bohemia) after 1790, from where sold to the painter and dealer K. Juvarek, by whom sold to Joseph von Novak, 1880.
Collection A. M. Jindrick Belohribek, Prague, in 1932.
