Lot 98: Louis de Boullogne the Younger (1654-1733)

The Madonna and Child with inscription 'L. De Boullongne' black and white chalk on brown paper 125/8 x 101/8 in. (320 x 278 mm.) NOTES For the group of the Madonna and Child in The Rest of the Flight into Egypt painted for the choir of Notre-Dame in Paris in 1715 and now in the Mus‚e des Beaux-Arts in Arras. Two further drawings of angels in the Louvre can be connected to that picture, A. Schnapper and H. Guicharnaud, Louis de Boullogne, Paris, n.d., nos. 49-50.
