He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax. Xavier's work has taken him from the Caribbean to the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada where he gained a significant following and where his work has become part of both private and public collections including Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC, Museum of Modern Art, New York and Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
