Oil on canvas, reminiscent of the Newlyn School of Painting
Lobster fisherman by early moonlight off Falmouth with St. Anthony's Lighthouse and Clipper to distance.

Walden was born in Norwich, Connecticut. as a young man he moved to Paris to study art with Carolus-Duran. In 1893-97 he lived in Falmouth England and hence must have been influenced by the Newlyn School of Painters. He became a noted painter in Hawaii, Cornwall and France Author David H Forbes described Walden as '...the finest seascape painter to work in Hawaii'. Walden's work can be found in: Cardiff, Brooklyn Museum, The Henry Art Gallery (University of Washington, Seattle), The Honkulu Museum of Art, The Isaacs Art Center ( Waimea, Hawaii ) and the Musee d'Orsay etc.
