LING JIAN (born 1963): ABSTRACT PAINTING. China, dated November 1989 - Oil/acrylic on canvas, lower right edge signed Ling Jian and dated. - Early work of this popular artist of the Chinese avantgarde movement, who now varies the topic of girls' and other persons' faces in a rather prominent manner with red lips highlighting the scenery. Ling graduated from the Central Academy of Arts in Beijing and worked as an art teacher before he became member of the mid to late 1980ies avant-garde groups of painters. He has repeatedly exhibited works in German galleries during the late 1980ies/early 1990ies, including Cologne and Hamburg, this work was bought on such an occasion in Germany - Good condition 113 x 115,5 cm
