Linda Graham (b.1955) Atlantic Blues Oil on canvas, 51 x 76cm Signed verso Linda Graham was born to Irish parents in Lancashire, England in 1955. Whilst she was still a young child the family returned to Ireland where she grew to be an intensely shy young lady, finding expression through art far easier than verbal communication. At the age of 14 Linda ran away from home to live in Holland. There, her employer's brother saw the merit in her artwork and encouraged her to study at the Academy of Art where she was instantly offered a scholarship. By the age of 18 Linda returned to Ireland and continued her studies in art. In the 1980s she married, gave birth to her son Robert and decided to move to Kerry. Tragically in 1989 she was diagnosed with MS and spent a great deal of time confined to a wheelchair. Thankfully her health has recently improved somewhat and she continues to paint emotive paintings from her home on the Atlantic coast.
