1879 ebonised wood and painted en grisaille , the dial centred by a rising sun and flanked by painted moon phases, flanked by four painted panels depicting two maidens and a man, within a reeded and foliate carved mount with a shaped frame, the French movement with Brocot escapement and quarter striking on two-coiled gong panels signed on the reverse `Lewis F Day, 1879'
