Charles Matlack Price, in his 1922 edition of "Poster Design: A Critical Study of the Development of the Poster in Continental Europe, England, and America," states that Leon Gordon "has done some of the most important recent poster work in America." His advertisements for companies such as Maxwell House, Hart Schaffner Marx, and Kuppenheimer Clothes captured the mood of the day with style and substance.
