LANDSCAPE IN THE STYLE OF WANG MENG

Handscroll, ink and colour on paper

Inscribed by the artist and signed: Dieshou Lan Ying
Two seals of the artist: Lan Ying, Tian Shu
One collector's seal of each of He Yuanyu (19th century) and He Kunyu (19th century)
Two collector's seals of Zhou Rui (20th century) on the mounting, and two of Lin Xiongguang (1900-1973)
Colophons at the end of the scroll by each of:
Zeng Xi (1861-1930), signed, with two seals;
Zhang Daqian (1899-1983), signed, with two seals, and dated gengxu year (1970)
Frontispiece by Gao Yong?? (1850-1921), signed, with two seals, and dated genxu year of the Xuantong era (1910)
Titleslip by Zhao Shu'ru (1874-1945), signed, with two seals, and dated gengwu year (1930)

Note:
The colophons by Zeng Xi and Zhang Daqian detail the transference of this scroll - it passed from the collection of Gao Yong to Fang Jiasun (who ebing a close friend of Zeng Xi ask Zeng to write his colophon). It wan then taken to Japan during the Sino-Japanese War. After the War, it fell into the hands of Yu Wangde, eldest son of Yu Youren (1879-1964). Then it was collected to Zhou Rui who asked Zhang Daqian to write his colophon.
The titleslip by Zhao Shuru also states that this was once in the Baomi Shi collection belong to Zhou Xiangyun (1878-?)
