LADY'S DESK, Louis XV, stamped MIGEON (Pierre II Migeon, 1701 Paris 1758), Paris circa 1745.
Purple heart in veneer and finely inlaid with lozenge and diamond pattern and "en papillon". The slightly recessed front with central drawer, flanked by door under drawer and 1 sham drawer, the interior with 2 drawers and removable box, fall front writing surface lined in leather enclosing fitted interior. Fine gilt bronze mounts and sabots. Freestanding. 85x55x(open 85)x99 cm.
