LACHAU, Geraud (Abbé de) & Abbé Gaspard Michel, called LEBLOND. Description des principales pièrres gravées du cabinet de ... le Duc d'Orléans. Paris: for Lachau & Leblond et Pissot, 1780-1784. 2 volumes, 2° (312 x 197mm). Engraved frontispiece by Charles Nicolas Cochin, title vignettes, half title in volume II, 179 plates of cameos and intaglios, 2 headpieces and 56 tailpieces, all but one designed by Augustin de Saint-Aubin, all engraved by Saint-Aubin (light circular stain in lower margin of frontispiece, a few leaves lightly browned, occasional marginal spots, light offsetting from plates, mainly from tailpieces). Contemporary French red morocco gilt, triple fillet border on sides, inner dentelles, spines with raised bands, ruled and lettered in gilt, gilt edges (lightly rubbed and a few very light scuff marks on sides). Provenance: Sir Alfred Lane Beit (bookplate). Cohen-de-Ricci 542. (2)
