KUNST IM DRITTEN REICH - Carl Theodor Protzen (1887 - 1956) - "The Wawel - view from Kosciuszko Hill"
Oil on wood, signed and dated on the lower left "C. Protzen 42". In contemporary frame, artist's label "Carl. Th. Protzen, München, Klugstr. 52" and "422. Krakau vom Kosciuzko-Hügel, 60 x 80 cm". Size framed 73.5 x 93.5 cm. Carl Theodor Protzen studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and was head of the Munich artists' association. He painted over 25 autobahn paintings from 1936 to 1941 and exhibited his works in the House of German Art. His works are housed today in the Bavarian State Picture Collections.
