Notes

Kleiner's views are considered to be "the finest representation of views of Vienna of the eighteenth century" (Fowler). The work by Josef Fischer von Erlach, son of the great Viennese baroque architect Johann Fischer von Erlach, comprises magnificent views of palaces, state buildings, and gardens and complement Kleiner's views. Danreiter was inspector of the court gardens at Schloss Mirabell and from 1728 was in charge of all the Salzburg court gardens.
