Kenneth Webb RWA FRSA RUA (b.1927) GIRL IN BLUE DRESS, 1964 signed and dated lower right oil on board 57 by 41cm., 22.5 by 16in. In 1953 Kenneth Webb was appointed Head of Painting at the Ulster College of Art, Belfast, a post he retained until his resignation in 1959. After this point Webb gave a number of lectures, which he calls "educational entertainment". Many of these presentations were held in university lecture theatres and televised for screening on ITV. During these classes Webb would invite a member of the audience to pose for a demonstration, in this case, for a portrait. We are grateful to the artist for his assistance in cataloguing this lot.
