Still life with fruits in a niche. Oil on canvas. Relined. 50 x 41cm. Framed.

Juncker's painting evokes the artistic work of Jan Davidsz de Heem, and he dedicated himself to the portrayal of still lifes in the 1740s. Juncker developed a rather distinct manner of painting, which in comparison to the Netherlandish artists, is more precise and seems to convey a cooler atmosphere.
Juncker mainly worked in the Frankfurt area and his works can be found in museums in Hessen; A similar composition is on display in the Mainz Landesmuseum (see Internet photo)
