Julius O. Montalant (Philadelphia, 1823-1878)

Lot of Nine Framed Vermont Scenes. Each signed and dated, the scenes identified below or to reverse. Watercolor and gouache on paper, c. 1852, sight size approx. 7 5/8 x 11 1/2 in., in later frames. Condition: Most in very good condition, two with minor light stains, one with minor paint loss, not examined out of frames.

Note: Scenes include: Burlington from Bishop Hopkins House, Onion River Below Jonesville, Winooski-Near Burlington, Connecticut River Below Windsor, View From Windsor on the Connecticut River From Railroad Bridge, Ascutney Mt. From Railroad Bridge Over the Sugar River, The View of Winooski From Pomeroy Place, View of Burlington, and one unidentified scene.
