JOSEPH WILLIAMS TOPHAM VINALL (BRITISH 1873-1953), OIL ON BOARD, 23" X 19" SIGHT, "THE BANDIT" Signed lower right (faded visibility). Depicting the backside of a male figure with red bandana on head, hand on hip, and face in profile. Figure possibly of an Arab. Antique gilt wood frame. Numerous labels and pencil writing to the verso include, one label overlapping other labels reads "With Care (printed /Vinall Joseph William Topham/8, Devonshire Gardens/Chiswick W.4./The Bandit (oils)" (black ink); Two different labels by "James Bourlet & Sons Ltd, Fine Art Packers, Frame Makers/G 2717/17 & 18 Nassau Street, London, W.1."; and marked in pencil, "T. Capocciama/1955-1853" & "J.W. T. Vinall ARCA, FRSA/2 Woodstock -----, Bedford Park, W.4". Also, framed by J.L. Hudson's Nov. 9, 1962. Vinall exhibited widely in England and abroad, including the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon.
