Condition: Good.

Provenance: Purchased from the artist, a close family friend and neighbor, by the grandparents of the current owner.

N.B. Menmaatre Seti I (or Sethos I as in Greek) was a pharaoh of the New Kingdom Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt, the son of Ramses I and Queen Sitre, and the father of Ramses II. The inspiration for this painting was taken from an image of Seti offering bolts of cloth to Horus, found in one of the chapels at the Temple of Abydos, Egypt. A photocopy of a label describing the work is included with this lot.
