Description

unsigned, provenance. Sweeny studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and exhibited at the Wisconsin Memorial Union (Madison, 1935). Sweeny was an industrial designer for Kirby, Cogeshall, Steinau Co. in Milwaukee. He executed sculpture, paintings, and designed furniture in the 1930s-50s. His work is closely related to the Chicago Bauhaus style. Non-Objective sculpture from this period is very rare and desirable.
