Provenance : The artist; Robert Louis Stevenson 1891 or 1892; Gifted from Stevenson to Anne Louisa Ide, 1892 in Vailima, Samoa; Bequeathed to Austin Strong, the artist's son, 1945; Private collection, Westchester, New York.

Other Notes: A letter of authenticity from the artist's son, Austin Strong. A presentation note signed by Stevenson and photo of Strong, Stevenson et al in Samoa is mounted on the reverse.
