Signed "JD Knap" l.l. or l.r., Redheads and Blue Wings
titled on labels
from Edward Side Galleries, Philadelphia, on the frame backings.
Watercolor on paper/board, sight sizes to 14 3/8 x 21 1/4 in. (36.8 x 54.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Redheads and Blue Wings with foxing, not examined out of frames.

Condition Report

The frame of "Blue Wings" was subsequently opened, revealing that the work is on Whatman Water Color Board measuring 15 x 21 3/4 in., and bearing a gummed label with the title and "# 227" written in ink on the reverse. The board is affixed to the window mat with masking tape around the sides of the reverse.

"Redheads" is marked #249 on the back of the frame and is inscribed "Salt Water Marshes" on the frame in pencil.

"Geese Alighting" is numbered #489 in pencil on the frame backing paper. When opened it was found to be titled in pencil on the reverse. The Whatman Water Color Board sheet measuring 15 x 22 in. is affixed to window mat with masking tape around the sides of the reverse.
