Lot 240: JONATHAN HARTLEY FOLLIOTT SCOTT (1914-1995)

Depicts women working on the docks very good condition. Approx. 30" high x 21 ¾ wide. The subjects of watercolorist Jonathan Scott, like the cave painters of the ancient past he admires, include figures and animals. Born in 1914, hereceived his training in England, Germany and Italy, where he was affected by the old masters. He has exhibited at the Ringling Museum, Sarasota, Florida, and Occidental College, California. His works are in the Laguna Museum of Art, California, and Lindsay Art Association. He received an award from the California Watercolor Society.
