Lot 164: JOHN WRIGHT (d. 1820)

A young gentleman, facing right in dark-green/grey coat with black velvet collar, white waistcoat, knotted white cravat, powdered short hair and sidewhiskers; cloud and sky background oval, 3 in. (76 mm.) high, silver-gilt frame, the reverse centred with a shuttle-shaped reserve with initial W in seed-pearls on a plaited brown hair panel, within a split-pearl border surrounded by translucent blue glass on a radiating guilloch‚ foil ground.
