Notes

Note:Sobieski and Edward were brothers that arrived in Scotland C. 1822 claiming to be grandsons of Bonnie Prince Charlie (1720-1788). In 1842, the brothers published their Vestiarium Scoticum which formed the basis for the development of the modern tartan.
