signed; original Carrig-Rohanne frame executed by Herman Dudley Murphy (signed and dated 1916); PAFA exhibition label verso. Sharman studied with Charles Woodbury at the Ogunquit School. He was a member of the Philadelphia Art Club, Boston Guild of Artists, Connecticut Association of Fine Artists, and he exhibited from the 1910s-30s at the Corcoran Gallery (biennials), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught at the Massachusetts School of Art, Boston Museum Fine Arts School, and the Woodbury Summer School. Exhibited: Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, 1917.
