oil/canvas, 25.5" x 30.5", signed; original label verso with title and, "a.j.e.c. guineas", written on the stretcher in pencil is: "Court of Charles II". Important painter in the second quarter of the 19th century in England, known for his works of elaborate interiors and drawings of architecture. His work is in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery (London), British Government Art Collection (The Main Gallery of the Louvre, Paris, 1831) and the Tate Gallery.
