Oil on board, 13 3/4 x 10 1/2 in., in old grain-painted frames.

Note: Inscribed on the back "Timothy Loring Boutelle/January 1832/Aged seventeen years," and on the reverse of the companion portrait "[illegible]/January 1832/Aged eighteen years."
