(71.5 x 91.5 cm.) PROVENANCE The Patten family, Ellsworth, Maine Theresa W. Patten Estate, Ellsworth, Maine Views of Niagara Falls by John S. Blunt are typical of the artist's attention to the aesthetic details of landscape and waterways. Born into a deep tradition of New England seafarers, Blunt's appreciation of land and water are immortalized on canvas displaying intricate attention to the rich fullness of foliage and the potential liveliness of a body of water.
