Notes

Georgina, 3rd daughter of Lord George Lennox M.P., married in 1789, Henry Lord Apsley (d.1834). In 1789, he became 3rd Earl Bathurst. The present lot relates to a portrait in the Collection of Earl Bathurst, Cirencester Park. The portrait, depicting Georgina holding her son Peter, is thought to have been painted either by William Hoare or John Hoppner. John Wright also painted a miniature of the present sitter's husband, after a portrait by Thomas Phillips.
