Lot 1242: John Gadsby Chapman. four oil painted engraved views of the Italian countryside.

Each painted in oil by Chapman over his original engraving, first 5 1/4 x 12 1/2 inches, sight. Including "The Bay of Naples;" "Sunset over Italian Lake;" "Italian Family on the Road;" and "Roadway into the Grotto di Posilipo." The first signed on reverse "John Gadsby Chapman Rome Sep 1881."
