This original watercolour appears as plate 24 in John Frederick Miller: Icones Animalium..", pub. 1785.
John Frederick Miller, the son of botanical artist John Miller, had been employed by Joseph Banks, and made drawings of his numerous zoological specimens. He also drew many of the artefacts collected on Captain Cook's Endeavour voyage of 1768-71.
