ROSES OF WHITE AND PINK signed " Jno F. Weir, " l.l. - - oil on canvas 16 x 12 3/4 in. (40.5 x 32.5 cm.) PROVENANCE By descent in the artist's family to the present owner Weir painted seven or eight works of this subject and style. A very similar one was given as a wedding gift to the artist's friend, Henry W. Farnam in 1890. According to Betsy Fahlman, this work probably dates from this period.
