Gilbey in 1973 ''Jack Spigot'' by Ardrossan out of ''Sister'', bred and owned by the Hon. Thomas Orde-Powlett, foaled in 1818, won in 1820 Sweep at Doncaster. In 1821, won The Great St. Leger and Foal Stakes at Doncaster. In 1822, won The Convivial Stakes at Newcastle.
