Notes

THE PROPERTY OF A GENTLEMAN (LOTS 116-120)

A pupil of the Prague-domiciled Swiss artist Rudolf Johann Byss, Johann Adalbert Angermeyer was the first Bohemian painter to specialise in still-life painting and became perhaps the most significant Czech painter of this genre. Angermeyer was a member of the Painters' Guild in Prague and became popular among the aristocracy in the city. The present lot depicts a forest floor still life with the artist's characteristic precision.

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
