Gallery, New York, on the reverse.
Wood and aquatec paint on canvas, 25 3/4 x 49 in. (65.4 x 124.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Mobile with abrasion to u.r. quadrant.

N.B. Three unsigned maquettes showing three orientations for the present work-Composition #1, Composition #2 and Composition #3, aquatec paint on illustration board, each 3 1/2 x 7 in. (8.9 x 17.8 cm), within a common frame-accompany the lot.

The accompanying work, Composition, was not examined out of frame.

Mobile Painting with abrasion with paint loss, 1 3/4 inches overall, located center right, 3 inches in from the right side and 10 inches down from the top. Craquelure l.c. in white rectangle. Scattered surface grime.

Mobile painting is framed with a sliding black geometric wooden screen in the front which mimics the design of the painted canvas and which moves in a channel in the front of the black wood frame, allowing one to visually reconfigure the composition. The three maquettes were created to show various ways to reconfigure the composition. The sliding screen measures 24 1/2 x 24 3/4 inches, and dimensions of the interior of the frame in which it slides are 24 1/2 x 47 3/4 inches. Exterior frame dimensions are 49 1/2 x 26 inches.
