The painting sits on its original canvas, which waves a little (barely visible). The varnish has slightly yellowed in some areas. Under grazing light, the stretcher is visible on the canvas' borders. Very thin cracks are visible on the surface. Under UV light, minor retouches are visible in the sky on the left hand side, and on the building's roof. Traces are visible by the girl's dress on the lower right of the composition, which may be dirt. Two small cracks have been filled on the Princess Marie-Sophie's right arm. The painting appears whiter in the catalogue than in reality. Very good condition.
