Jennifer Tee's videos, sculptures, installations, environments and performances play with mythical elements. New dialogues are created, somehow connected with narrative elements and themes. Lines of thought, inspired by her own life and related to religion, mythology, anthropology, language and travels are brought together in often colourful and layered works of art. All works are interconnected, but complete in themselves with their own logic. Tee tries to answer questions about the mythology of contemporary human beings, about cultural identity and soul-searching. In her area of research she works like a quasi-anthropologist and tries to make connections where apparently there never were any before. She constructs poetic dispositions, between fact and fiction, between present and past.

Jennifer Tee was resident artist at the Rijksakademie in 2000-2001.
She won the basic prize of the 1999 Prix de Rome (NL), the Uriôt Prize (NL) in 2001 and the Prix Nouvelles Images (NL) in 2003.
