Notes

A member of the Automatistes and a signator to Refus Global, Mousseau, a student of Borduas, was the youngest of the group.

By the early 1960s he was instrumental in the integration of art into the urban Montreal environment, frequently creating original murals, and collaborating with artists on commissions for public buildings. In 1964, he exhibited a series of circular paintings that the viewer could turn to choose the orientation of the composition.
