Jean-Joseph-Xavier Bidauld (French, 1758-1846)

Landscape with River and Mountain
Unsigned, with a label from Eric Turquin, Expert, Paris, affixed to the reverse.
Oil on paper laid down on paperboard, 12 1/4 x 14 3/4 in. (48.3 x 37.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Minor retouch, discolored varnish.

Provenance: Christie's, New York, Sale 2818, January 30, 2014, Lot 306 (with a full attribution); Tableaux Anciens,Tajan, Paris, October 20, 2004, Lot 122 (as attributed to).

Condition Report

Printed round label from Eric Turquin bears the number "97/233" written in ink in the center.

In a substantial period 19th century giltwood frame with liner. UV examination shows only minor spot of retouch along bottom.

Other labels include two from Adam Crease Shipping on the reverse and one from Jerry Solomon Custom Picture Framing, Los Angeles, on the back of the frame.
