Item Overview

Description

JEAN GOULDEN (1878-1946)
An Enameled Silver and Copper Plaque, circa 1938
together with copy of newspaper article (the "Daily Mirror", May 7, 1935) picturing Goulden at work, and four handwritten copied letters between Goulden and a Mr. Millinet dated January 14, January 19, January 28 and February 2, 1939. These letters were written in response to Millinet's request to purchase this plaque. In the letter dated February 2, Goulden describes the plaque as depicting a childhood event in Biarritz of a ship in the bay encountering a violent storm.
