Vallauris, France, early 20th century
Urn-form, the body with multicolored "tesserae," at the shoulder a pale blue band decorated with stylized flowers in red, turquoise, and copper, impressed marks Gerbino, Vallauris (AM), ht. 11 in.

Note: Born in Sicily, Gerbino emigrated first to Algeria and then to France, where he developed the "mosaique" process based on Asian marbled ceramic techniques.
