Description

Figures in Orientalist costume at seaport with anchoring ships, camels and horses, parcels and goods. In foreground recumbent cows, calfs and sheep may been scene. Oil on canvas, signed lower center, the canvas size apprx. 9-3/4" x 11", framed in an antique gold leafed frame overall apprx. 13" x 14-3/8". Verso with old paper label with ink name "Mrs. Revell". Ex-Collection of a gentleman, Dawtaw Island, South Carolina.
In like framing as the previous lot, this is probably also framed by Lebrun. Founded in 1847, Lebrun House specializes in the sale and restoration of antique frames from the fifteenth to nineteenth century and a selection of mirrors, and objects of gilded wood. In it's fifth generation, the family members to accompany successive Lebrun private collectors, galleries and art museums in the framework of ancient paintings and modern.
