Description

Figures in Orientalist costume at seaport, with cargo, horses and camels, several figures in foreground. Oil on canvas, signed lower right, the canvas size apprx. 9-3/4" x 11", framed in an antique gold leaf frame overall apprx. 13" x 14-3/8". Ex-Collection of a gentleman, Dawtaw Island, South Carolina. Verso with paper label from "Lebrun, Cadres Anciens et Modernes Depuis 1847, sculpture dorure", and partial paper label with ink inscription "Mrs. Revell".
Founded in 1847, Lebrun House specializes in the sale and restoration of antique frames from the fifteenth to nineteenth century and a selection of mirrors, and objects of gilded wood. In it's fifth generation, the family members to accompany successive Lebrun private collectors, galleries and art museums in the framework of ancient paintings and modern.
