Werner Sumowski (Gemälde der Rembrandt Schüler, V, Landau/Pfalz, 1983, p. 3116, no. 2160) lists a second version of the present compositions (sold, Sotheby's, London, 11 December 1985, lot 111, £7,800=$11,388). A third rectangular version of the Portrait of a Gentleman is in the J.G. Johnson Collection, Philadelphia Museum of Art.
