Description

Built at Greenpoint, Long Island in 1856-57 by Jeremiah Simonson as the steam & sail yacht "Vanderbilt" for Commodore Vanderbilt, she was converted to full sail and sold to Howes Brothers for the Liverpool run. Oil on board, 12 x 19 1/4 inches, sight. Signed "J.W." l.l. Frame 24 x 32 inches.
