How we perceive light is often an important element in his work. In 2011, he was longlisted for the Sobey Art Award, and his work is held in the collections of TD Bank, Bank of Montreal, Scotiabank, the Vancouver Art Gallery and Louis Vuitton Maison. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Most recent exhibitions include: “Poetics of Space” at the Vancouver Art Gallery, “Nour” at the Sharjah Art Museum, “Lumens” at the Musée Regional de Rimouski and “Thought Forms” at Maerz Galerie, which represents him in Berlin and Leipzig. In 2016 and 2017, Nizam will have a solo exhibition at the Burrards Arts Foundation (Vancouver) and will be included in a group exhibition at Galerie Clement and Schneider (Bonn, Germany). In Toronto, he is represented by Birch Contemporary. Estimate: $2,000–2,500
