The loan of this picture has been requested for a major exhibition on animal still-lifes ranging from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, to be held at the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe in the winter 2011/12.

The pair to this lot, which is signed and dated 1666, was sold at London, Sotheby's, 9 December 2010, lot 160.
