36 x 40 inches 91.4 x 101.6 centimeters signed Provenance:Private Collection, British Columbia The dancers depicted in this painting are Luc Amyot and Linda Maybarduk. Maybarduk was a good friend of Rudolf Nureyev and wrote a book about him. This painting is one of Darcus's earliest egg temperas and is quite different from his later work. It came to the consignor as part payment for his role as Ulysses Hawley (for which he was nominated for a Genie Award for Best Actor) in Darcus's 1982 film Deserters.
